Lafayette High School band students have an energy and excitement for music and performing that bring the program to life. At the foundation of the program is a teaching staff that requires discipline and respect from each student while offering many musical opportunities. Included with school academics are Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Percussion, and Jazz Band. Outside of normal school hours, students can choose to participate in Color and Winter Guard, Marching Band, Home Court Advantage, and the Pit Orchestra. Once a year, students can audition for the All-Suburban band and potentially the All-State band as well as opportunities to play pieces for the District's Solo and Ensemble Festival. Whether playing an instrument for the first time or having had thousands of hours of practice, band students will learn and grow musically from a caring teaching staff that truly loves music.
